Key milestones: the 1948 integration of Hyderabad State into India (Operation Polo), the 1956 formation of Andhra Pradesh and the Gentlemen’s Agreement, the 1969 Jai Telangana agitation, the rise of the statehood movement, and the formation of Telangana as India’s 29th state on 2 June 2014.
