Aarogyasri Health Scheme
Aarogyasri (ఆరోగ్యశ్రీ — "health blessing") is Telangana's state health assurance programme providing free tertiary medical care to BPL (Below Poverty Line) families.
Coverage
The scheme covers surgical procedures, speciality care, and hospitalisation across a wide range of conditions including heart surgery, cancer treatment, organ transplants, orthopaedic procedures, and more. Over 1,000 procedures are typically covered.
Who is Eligible
- Families with White Ration Card (BPL) in Telangana
- Coverage extends to all family members listed in the ration card
Empanelled Hospitals
Aarogyasri covers treatment at:
- Government hospitals (free)
- Empanelled private hospitals (cashless, up to scheme limits)
The network includes hospitals across Telangana and some in neighbouring states for specialised care.
How to Avail Treatment
- Approach the Aarogyasri Health Care Trust (AHT) desk at the empanelled hospital
- Present White Ration Card and Aadhaar
- Pre-authorisation from AHT for the procedure
