Pembarthi Craft

Pembarthi (Warangal district) is known for its traditional white-metal (brass) craft — large embossed panels and articles made by hammering sheets of brass over wooden moulds. The craft has a GI tag.

Technique

Artisans use wooden blocks to emboss patterns onto brass sheets — a repoussé technique. Deities, elephants, and floral motifs are the most common designs. Pembarthi crafts adorn temples across Telangana.
